On the mental incapacity for truth in victims of religious faiths.
Any person of no faith who has exchanged views with an extremely religious person knows that it is never an equal sided argument. Such people have devised many and varied ways of ensuring that their belief cannot be assailed by facts or evidence. This is understandable. To lose ones faith must be a traumatic affair and defending one’s position a matter almost of life and death. A key feature of such interchanges is that the person of faith often sites the non-believer’s refusal to participate (we invariably give in sooner or later and wish we had never started) as being unwilling to debate. They turn this accusation on their interlocutor with a sense of victory. This is, on their part, bigotry in action but can they rightly be accused of bigotry when their cultural and family background has exposed them to rigorous and systematic brain washing from such an early age that they no longer have the mental capacity to distinguish mythology and fiction from evidence and fact. This is why those of us who have no belief in supernatural gods should not enter the arena of their cult’s battlefield. In stead we should spend our energies more wisely and chip away at improving education, reason, secularism, openness, tolerance, respect and liberalisation. They will remain victims, only rarely can they be saved from their own destructive forces, but their descendants will ever be exposed to a better and more enjoyable way of living. This progression is unstoppable, has only ever been in one direction and is directly proportional to the quality of education people receive. Religion and superstitious belief are both dying with every lessening of ignorance and it is merely necessary to subversively nurture this demise and bide our time.
To illustrate the effects of brain washing and its destruction of an individuals intellectual capacity I provoked a willing but unaware volunteer into an ‘interchange’ on social media starting from a ‘bait’ comment. I have no doubt, however misguided, that she is sincere in her beliefs but starkly set out in black and white it is a rather bleak condemnation of those responsible for robbing this human victim of its capacity to distinguish truth from fantasy. Here then in her own words is the mind of poor Lilian.
(The name has been changed, the words, mine and hers, have been copied and pasted verbatim except where shown (thus) to correct my own mistakes.)
I am not making any additional commentary here either, Lilian makes my case perfectly eloquently for herself.
Meme: My Mom is a gift from God.
Extremist terrorism and religious right (-wing) hatred are gifts from God too! Child cancer is a gift from God. So fuck God!
If you knew that evil doesn’t come from God, you wouldn’t be expressing yourself like that.
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9)
This mighty angel who once was called Lucifer (light bearer) became Satan (the adversary) by his own choice thinking that he could do a better job at governing the universe without having to follow God’s “strict” law.
Well, we know the result of that rebellion now with all its misery.
He took control of this planet when our first parents chose to take alliance with him.
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5)
God created him, and us, with a very beautiful thing called: free will. Unfortunately he/Satan decided to go against God’s will, and so do we many times and the result is never for our own good.
God’s government is based on love, He can only accept obedience out of love, He forces no one. He knows what’s best for us, He made us.
But evil can not last for ever, God will put an end to it. He has allow Satan to play out long enough, now it’s God’s turn.
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” (Malachi 4:1)
Note: root = Satan and his angels
branch = wicked/disobedient
So, dear reader, think twice.
Which side will you choose, God’s or Satan’s?
What utter crap that is. It’s almost as though you believe bronze age gods actually do exist for real. Laughable. And you could believe in a god that creates people and hell to torture his creations with, insane. You need treatment my dear.
Hell just mean the grave. Hell as many people believe it doesn’t exist.
So there is not torturing hell any where in the Bible, that a Roman Catholic Church”s tradition to scare people into believing that, so they can get money from them in the form of indulgences. I’m not sure if you know that much of history but.
I know a great deal of history, you are talking about mythology. Made up stories to explain the world for ignorant, illiterate, middle eastern goat herders. You are rejecting one false myth (hell) and accepting others (satan) , its all mythology, not reality and you must be quite ill. I am so sorry you list your mind to bronze age cult worship especially since your god is nasty and evil.
The Creator of all things is not mythology and there will come a day when you will have to answer to Him for your choices.
And I know that most people don’t like that idea of a Creator God because they just don’t want to be accountable for their actions.
It’s sad really, that you prefer to be part of an obsolete group – evolutionist – who think they come from a monkey with no purpose in life.
By the way, have you heard of Polystrate fossils? Can you explain them?
I have done with talking to lunatics. The dark ages finished long ago. We, the majority, live in light and freedom these days.
The ‘majority’ has been usualy wrong for most part in history. Anyway, I knew you wouldn’t last long in a debate.
Good luck with your bitter views in life.
Note: I wonder why you had such a hostile reaction when you first saw the post about mothers. Did your mother loved you?
Well, if she didn’t she didn’t deserved to be one.
But Jesus loves you, even now when you still don’t know Him yet. He is not the horrible god you have painted in your mind based on the horrors that men have done in His name. He is a loving father who longs to have a relationship with His children.
I wish and hope that one day you will come around and get to know Him truly.
You hope in vain and I lost my beloved mother at 89 after caring for her at home for nearly 10 years. I have no bitterness, just utter and complete contentment at ease with my love of life and freedom from hatred and false knowledge. There are no gods, there never was a Jesus, its all man made and my dear mum made sure that I never grew up in the fear and superstition of false beliefs. I have led and am leading an enviously happy life which will end at my anihilation in the way of all animals as natures laws dictate. As for debate, that cannot be had with the mentally deranged as are all believers in false gods. You are no exception.
Jesus is a historical fact. Even Jews know His existence. Your are just playing ignorant.
I’m glad that you had a good relationship with your mother and you took care of her, it’s beautiful.
Jesus is a historical fact, even the Jews know of His existence.
Don’t play ignorant, you said that you know a great deal of history.
Wouldn’t it be amazing/terrible that your mum is saved in the end (just based on her good dees even though she didn’t get to know Jesus, and lived a life the best she knew?
But you on the other hand are being shown about the truth and might be lost for rejecting the Light?
Wouldn’t it be sad if she made to heaven and you’re not there?
Oh you have no idea how how totally stupid and ignorant that all reads. You are deluded, but stay happy and continue to waste your life on the biggest con trick to be perpetrated on mankind if that suits your inability to confront reality. We are all fine. We live in the light of truth and knowledge. You have perfectly illustrated how little sense people of faith make arguing the unreasonable in order to make true the impossible in order not to confront the unpalatable. You still need to visit a psychiatrist though, before its too late for you to at least have some fun being alive.
I’m very happy don’t worry about that, but I live in the freedom of knowing the real truth. It’s you who are living the lie, the lie that this temporal world has sold you.
Look, I don’t see the point trying to convince you of anything, you have chosen and dismissed what could’ve have been the best real freedom of your life.
We will meet one day on that final Day (of judgement) and we’ll see who will be the real loosers in the end.
Eternal Life sounds pretty good to me compared with this swift life on planet earth.
And you know what?… I have nothing to loose by living a good life according to God’s will…unlike you, you may loose everything because you didn’t even tried.
I’d like to leave you with a prophecy. Daniel, when he was taken captive (Babylonian Empire) in the time when Nebuchadnezzar was around. He, the King, had a dream that disturbed him and he couldn’t remembered it (read all about it in Daniel 2:1-49) pay special attention to verse 44 and 45 because we have gone through all of those kingdoms and the last part of it is the feet of the statue, we are living in that time, right now, that metal man that the king dreamed about, is actually a time line, there will be no more world empires after that (although many have tried to unite the world in the past and failed, you know that). The rock that strikes the statue in the feet is Jesus, He will stablish His new Kingdom “and it shall stand for ever.”
There is nothing after the feet, so, my question is : if one by one the world empires came to past 100% accurately as Daniel was shown in the dream, what make you think that the last part of this prophecy will not be fulfil? Mind due, is was predicted almost 700 years before the Messiah was born.
Note: PLEASE read it, it’s part of undeniable history! Look for yourself, it won’t bite.
My first language is Spanish, I’m trying my best with English. Forgive me if my grammar is not perfect.
Your grammar is the least of your problems. Your mind needs substantial work though. There is no evidence of any supernatural god let alone Jesus, the commonest name in the tiny village that was the Jerusalem of the time and historians say that most of those had a Joseph for a father. No evidence at all. Zilch. The Bible doesn’t count because it was repeatedly falsified on each successive translation and is in any case the work of man. Bring me evidence. You cannot because there is none. If there were evidence it would not be called faith. Definition of faith, belief without evidence. Go to a shrink and get your mental illness fixed, forget about English grammar until you have something sensible to use it for.
You didn’t even tried to read what the prophet Daniel was explaining about what was going to happen in the future WHICH IT HAPPENED! and you are asking for evidence! WELL? I gave you hard ones but you just ignored them!
The translations haven’t being affected through time the message is still intact. The writers are human vessels directed by the Holy Spirit to write what God inspired them to record in the Scriptures.
By the way, you cannot give proof of any of the evolutionists theories that are ‘floating’ here and there (always changing) which takes just as much faith to believe them.
For instance, they used to say that dinosaurs appear millions of years ago but now they are saying that maybe there were on earth together with men only some thousands year ago, of course that is the case now! because they have found tissue in the bones that should not exit after millions of years!
Evolutionists scientists are loosing ground in a big scale this days, but you are blind to it aren’t you.
The ravings of biblical Eunuchs do not qualify as evidence anymore than spiderman comics prove the existence of spiderman. What you write is self contradictory and you clearly have no idea of the nature of science. Science has, as one of its basic premises, doubt in itself and constantly changes to account for new evidence. I see it now. You must already (be) in an asylum. Do they let you out much. I hope so, we are all having a great time free of supernatural false beliefs and false hopes. Living real lives not fake ones. Confident in our knowledge and not believing the crap in the bible. I do hope you get better soon.
Hahaha you’re funny.
God is science, He invented mathematics, biology and all the rest of science.
Living real lives? More like living the easy way out I’d say, you’re the one who is living the lie.
They (false scientists) are always changing their views. They justify their flimsy dicoveries in a well known phrase: “science is in nappies”. How can you believe such uncertain beliefs!
I’d rather stand on a plain: ‘thus saith the Lord God’ who does never change because He is the same yesterday, today and for ever.
Did you know that evolutionists archaeologists used to say that the city of Nineveh was a biblical myth? Until it was discovered and now they have to swallow their words.
I can give hundreds of examples were the Bible has been so accurate that even false scientists tremble.
Don’t take me wrong, I believe in science. There’s good science and bad science.
Fortunately for mankind the truth goes on being true whether you like it or not. Ironically you’re sort and your delusions are fading fast and dying out thanks to the natural selection you hate so much being real and effective at dealing with deformities like yours. Your lying and incoherent nonsense is boring me now, I shall leave you to your delusions. You can have the last word but please give it some thought because this interchange is about to be published in an article on the mental incapacity for truth in brain washed victims of religious faiths. Go for it!
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
